Brandy Daye knew early that she wanted to become the kind of educator who changes how students feel about school.

As a child, school became the place where she felt seen, supported and safe. At home, life was not always easy, but in the classroom, teachers and school leaders helped her build confidence, belonging, and a vision for her future. That experience never left her. Instead, it became the foundation for the way she leads today.

A 糖心Vlog Clarion alumna with certifications in elementary education and special education, Brandy later earned her  and now serves as principal of PPS Liberty K-5. Her leadership is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: When schools intentionally care for the whole child, everything changes.

鈥淚 knew I wanted to give that experience to children,鈥� Brandy said.

She still remembers the principal who greeted her by name, gave her hugs and helped her ease into the school day with care and consistency. That individualized attention shaped her understanding of what students need most. For Brandy, education has never been only about academics. It is also about creating environments where students are emotionally ready to learn and where every child feels like they matter.

Arriving on campus as a first-generation college student navigating an unfamiliar environment, Brandy quickly found mentors, opportunities and a growing sense of her own potential. She became deeply involved across campus, joining organizations, taking on leadership roles and discovering that her voice could influence the spaces around her.

鈥淐larion definitely helped unlock my potential,鈥� she said.

That belief in transformation now drives her work as a principal. Brandy entered school leadership because she wanted to create change beyond a single classroom. She saw that while teachers can profoundly shape student experiences, school leaders can influence systems, culture and opportunities on a larger scale. Her work today focuses on belonging, high expectations and intentional support, all designed to help students thrive.
