Caleigh Aigler addresses Vlog Clarion Class of 2026
From freshman doubts to the commencement stage, ‘This place helped shape who I am’

Four years ago, Caleigh Aigler wasn’t sure where she belonged.
On May 9, the Tiffin, Ohio, native stood before hundreds of graduates, family members and faculty members as the student speaker for the afternoon commencement ceremony — reflecting on the experiences that transformed uncertainty into confidence, leadership and purpose.
“If you would have asked me during my freshman year if I would be standing here today giving this speech, I probably would have laughed,” Aigler told fellow graduates. “Freshman year I questioned whether I belonged here. I questioned whether I had made the right choice. I questioned whether I was capable of balancing academics, athletics and everything in between.”
“But I stayed,” she said. “And staying changed everything.”
Aigler graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in economics and a minor in pre-law. A consistent Dean’s List student, she earned numerous academic and athletic honors during her time at Clarion, including the Golden Eagle Scholars Award, Clarion Athletics Academic Achievement Award and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Award.
She also received multiple scholarships, including the Economics Department Scholarship, Cross Country Annual Scholarship, Alumni Association Athletic Scholarship and Enid Dennis Memorial Scholarship.
Beyond the classroom, Aigler became deeply involved in campus leadership and student life.
She served as vice president of Student Senate, chaired the Academic Affairs Committee and contributed to both the Appropriations Committee and Rules and Regulations Committee. She was also an active member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Clarion Student Association.
At the same time, Aigler balanced the demands of collegiate athletics as a member of the women’s cross country and track and field teams while working at the Clarion Recreation Center and interning with Spessard Law Firm.
Those experiences, she said, helped shape her understanding of perseverance, leadership and community.
“Somewhere between practices and study sessions … between team bus rides and Senate meetings … between hard conversations and even harder workouts … I found my people,” Aigler said during her commencement address. “I found mentors. I found purpose.”
Through athletics, she learned discipline and resilience.
“I learned that growth rarely feels comfortable,” she said. “I learned that sometimes the biggest victories don’t happen on a podium — they happen when you choose to keep showing up.”
Her leadership roles in Student Senate helped her discover another important lesson.
“I found my voice,” Aigler said. “I learned how to advocate — not just for myself, but for others. I learned that leadership is not about a title on a résumé — it’s about responsibility, service and integrity.”
Aigler credited the Vlog Clarion community with helping her grow both personally and professionally.
“Clarion didn’t just give me a degree,” she said. “It gave me friendships that turned into family. It gave me professors who challenged me and coaches who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. It gave me resilience. It gave me confidence.”
Her message resonated with graduates who may have faced similar doubts or challenges during their own college journeys.
“To my classmates — if you struggle at any point, I hope you know that you’re not alone,” she said. “If you question yourself, I hope you see now how far you’ve come.”
That perseverance, she said, can shape the course of a life.
“As we leave Clarion and step into whatever comes next — careers, graduate school, new cities — I hope we carry this with us: the understanding that growth happens in discomfort, that community matters, and that staying — even when it’s hard — can change the trajectory of your life.”
Following graduation, Aigler plans to pursue a career in law, focusing on advocacy and service — goals that reflect the same commitment to leadership and helping others that defined her time at Vlog Clarion.
